Is Best Buy Open on Christmas 2026?
Best Buy shuts down on Christmas Day, but Christmas Eve gives you a decent window. Here's the verified 2026 answer.
Summary
Best Buy is closed on Christmas Day 2026 (Friday, December 25) — that's the long-standing policy, though the official 2026 schedule isn't out yet. On Christmas Eve (Thursday, December 24), stores are typically open 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM; a company spokesperson confirmed those hours for 2025. Regular hours resume Saturday, December 26.
The single most important point
Best Buy gives you one of the longest Christmas Eve windows in retail — 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM — but Christmas Day itself is a hard shutdown, so buy the gift wrap on the 24th.

What are Best Buy’s Christmas hours?
Best Buy hasn't published its official 2026 holiday schedule yet, but its Christmas pattern is one of the most consistent in retail: closed on Christmas Day, with 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM on Christmas Eve. A company spokesperson confirmed the 8-to-7 window for 2025, and the company's official 2025 holiday release said the same thing.
The 7:00 PM Christmas Eve close is generous by big-box standards — an hour or two later than home-improvement chains. Many stores also run extended hours in the days leading up to Christmas, so the December 22–23 window is worth watching for early deals.
BestBuy.com stays open through the holiday for online orders. We'll update this page when the official 2026 holiday schedule drops.
