Is Walgreens Open on Christmas 2026?
Walgreens keeps limited hours on Christmas Day — but your store may differ. Here's the verified 2026 answer.
Summary
Many Walgreens are open on Christmas Day 2026 (Friday, December 25) with reduced hours — typically around 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, based on recent years, while 24-hour locations run their normal schedule. The 2026 schedule hasn't been announced yet, and hours vary by location, so verify before you go. On Christmas Eve (Thursday, December 24), many stores run roughly 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Pharmacy hours vary, and many non-24-hour pharmacies are closed on Christmas Day.
The single most important point
Walgreens is open-ish on Christmas Day — the 9 AM to 6 PM window covers the middle of the day, but the pharmacy is likely closed and hours genuinely vary, so the store locator or a phone call is the only reliable answer.

What are Walgreens’s Christmas hours?
Walgreens takes the middle path on Christmas Day: many stores open with reduced hours, typically around 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday, December 25, 2026, based on recent years, while 24-hour locations run their normal schedule. They haven't announced the 2026 schedule yet.
Two things to know. First, pharmacy hours vary — many non-24-hour pharmacies are closed on Christmas Day even where the front end is open. Second, hours genuinely differ by location, so the 9 AM–6 PM window is the common pattern, not a promise.
On Christmas Eve, many stores run roughly 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM (the 2025 pattern). Bottom line: Walgreens works for Christmas Day essentials, but verify your specific store first.
